Ok, so far these are the profiles we discovered and enjoyed, described as best as we can put it for each coffee (we went through four):
The Brazil Mogiana: heavy bodied and thick, cinnamon in the aroma, lime and pulpy fruit on the tongue with a powdery, full aftertaste. not too sweet or winey, but well balanced all the same. Nathan's fav!
The Java Sunda Candra Wulan: light-bodied, bright and dynamic with toasted macadamia nut hinted in the aroma, salty and tangy on the tongue, overall a very vibrant and intriguing cup.
The Burundi Kirimirroo Teka: dark chocolate notes in the aroma, medium bodied, honey, almond and milk chocolate in the aftertaste.
The Burundi Yandaro: vanilla and butterscotch hinted in the aroma, lighter bodied than the first Burundi, really mellow with definite dark chocolate notes.
Wow- what a refreshing two hours. It really flew right by! Its so therapeutic to sit and sip and think about what your senses are experiencing. Thanks Noah, Dan, and Nathan for joining in on this. Hope you had as much fun as I did!

Upcoming Local Music Event!
Among the many spring events happening around the Mon Valley scene, we are excited to support a wonderful fundraising music festival. The 2nd Annual Raise Your Voice Music Festival is held in Monessen City Park, a beautiful setting with an amphitheater, plenty pretty trees, paths and nice pavilions. All of the bands are LOCAL artists, and such talent and entertainment you do not want to miss! Its simply a great day to come out in support of the community. All donations and proceeds go to Monessen Communities that Care, a non-profit organization that keeps youth off the streets.
Among the many bands playing will be the coffeehouse band Wind & Waves, modern folk with a unique sound and style. And Scott & Rosanna, an acoustic duo who's excellent musicianship and positive vibe will get you smiling to their catchy tunes. Check out their Facebook Page and Youtube Channel to hear them. About Sumatra, New Online Shop, and More News!
Coffee from Sumatra varies with processing methods, but what we have here is an interesting bean when roasted to medium we taste notes of raisin, banana, and sweet tobacco. Try a cup or pick up a batch for home and see if you catch these flavours.
Our online store is just starting out on the Little City Facebook Fan Page! You can now browse our coffee selection, and cue up an order. We'll send it to you with no charge for shipping until the end of April as a special introduction. If you would like to pay over the phone for convenience we can offer that too! As always, we have more changes to come as we improve and grow!
In May we will be closed for remodeling. There are quite a few things which need to be patched, updated, painted, and moved around! So we though, why not get it all done at once, then take a break? Instead of sporadically trying to work around our hours, we decided to do a shut down period from April thru May.
Don't worry though! We will be open for a few special events, as well as on Fleatique day, and we will of course continue to fill your coffee orders during this time. During the shut-down time you can use our online shop to select your coffee orders! Your wish is our command, we just love providing fresh coffee!
